A different view of trees

The Basic Idea

Sit underneath your chosen tree with your back to the trunk. Use your mirror to imagine the journey of an ant: up the tree trunk, along branches, twigs and onto a leaf at the top of the tree. Then it slowly comes back down the tree along the twigs, branches, trunk and finally down to the ground.

How to take it even further or make it more challenging

Explore the tree with other senses. Draw one of the views from your mirror. Draw or write about the ant’s journey. Act out the journey.

Investigate whether there are other creatures living in the tree. Would any of them have a very different journey which you could follow with your mirror?
